Marines/H Co 2/7

          The  Marine

The Marine described by himself, is a buff handsome highly trained professional killer and female idol who carries a finely honed K- Bar and wears a crisp eight point cover and is always on time due to the absolute reliability of his Seiko digital watch.

The Marine described by his wife:  Is a stinking gross foul mouth lovable s.o.b, who arrives back at home every few months with a seabag full of dirty skivvies and utilities. A huge Seiko watch, and a oversized knife with a filthy cover and is hornier then hell!

Marine Corps Headquarters:  a drunken brawling jeep stealing woman corrupting, "bullshit artist"who wears a Seiko watch, an un-authorized K-Bar and a squared away cover.

The Marines Commanding Officer: a fine specimen of a drunken brawling, jeep stealing woman corrupting bullshiter with an incrediblely accurate Seiko watch, a finally honed razor sharp K-Bar and a salty green cover.

The U.S. Congress:  Marines are overpaid, hired killers who are indispensable since they volunteer to go anywhere at any time and kill every thing they are told to kill, as long as they can drink beer, brawl, steel jeeps, corrupt women and sing dirty songs while wearing Cammy's and an oversize knife, a Seiko watch and really screw up an 8 pointed cover that don't look like the Army's.

Ronald Reagan, former Pres. of the United States: some people live in entire lifetime and wonder if they ever made a difference in the world. "Marines don't have that problem."

Gen. Douglas MacArthur, US Army: these Marines have the swagger, confidence and hardness that must have been in Stonewall Jackson's army of the Shenandoah. They remind me of the coldstream guards at Dunkirk. I have just returned from visiting the Marines at the front. There is not a finer fighting organization in the world!

Adm. Chester Nimitz, U.S. Navy: when the Marine Corps battled for Iwo Jima; uncommon valor was a common virtue.

Lt Col. T. R. Fehrenback, US Army : Marines are men who will go where his colors go without asking, who will fight a fandom foe in the jungle or in a mountain range and who will suffer and die in the midst of an incredible hardship without complaint, and is still  what he has always been. He is the stuff of which legends are made, his pride is in his colors and in his regiment and his training is hard and thorough and coldly realistic,to fit him for what he must face, in his obedience is to his orders. As a legionnaire, he held the gates of civilization for the classical world. "Today he is called a United States Marine."

General; John J (Black Jack) Pershing, US Army: the deadliest weapon in the world is a Marine and his rifle!

Gen. Johnson, US Army: "I can never again see a United States Marine without experiencing a feeling of reverence."

Gen. Mark Clark, US Army: the more Marines I have around the better I like it.
War correspondent Richard Harding Davis: the Marines have landed in this situation is well in hand.

An Anonymous Citizen: Marines are about the most peculiar breed of human beings I have ever witnessed, they treat their service as if it was some kind of a cult, plastering their emblem on almost everything they own. Making themselves up to look like insane fanatics with hair cut so short as to be ungentlemanly and worshiping their Commandant as if he was a god, and making weird animal noises like a band of savages. They'll fight like rabid dogs at the drop of a hat, just for the sake of a little action and they are the cockiness SOB's I've ever known. Most have the foulest mouths and drink well beyond a man's normal limits, but their high spirit and sense of brotherhood set them apart and, generally speaking, of the United States Marines with whom I've come in contact, are the most professional warriors and the finest men I have had the pleasure to meet.

Lieut. Col. Oliver North, USMC (ret): they are the only people I trust , and let beside my wife and kids, are US Marines.

Maj. Gen. J N. Mathis: Marines are part of the world's most feared and trusted fighting force. You engage your brain, before you engage your weapon. You share your courage with each other as we enter the uncertain terrain north of our line of departure.  You keep faith in your comrades on your left and right, and Marine air overhead, and with a happy heart and a strong spirit. For the missions sake, our countries safety and the sake of the men who carried the divisions colors in past battles.....

A Marine Drill Instructor at Parris Island: did you come here just to spoil my beloved Corps, you maggot?

If I Charge, Follow Me. If I Retreat, Kill Me. If I Die, Revenge Me.

                      A MARINE HAS THREE SIDES

1. The Quiet Side.
2. The Fun and Crazy Side.
3. The Side You Never Want To See.

                                The Green Machine

Marines are the Corps Green Animals, they feed us,mistreat us and every now and then they turn us lose to kill something. Marines don't forgive, the Lord dose. It's our job to arrange that meeting !
